Rincon may just be the second best place next to Malibu
for California surfing. Its right point break has rides than can
run 150-200 yards on a good swell.
I first surfed Rincon in the 60s and it's the same wave
today that I remember then. Rights that keep on
coming.
Walk to the point and paddle nearly parallel to the surf
line, turn and catch the next set. Getting over the rocky shore
can be tricky (it's a good idea to walk out floating your board fin up
at lower tides). But the ride is excellent with a typical point
break, fairly steep faces that can really tube when there's some
size. |
